45 MPH Winds Force Ground Stop At DFW Airport, Arrivals 2 Hours Behind – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

DFW AIRPORT (CBSDFW.COM) – The Federal Aviation Administration initiated a ground stop at DFW Airport on Friday, January 15th, shortly before 3:00 p.m. due to strong winds.

Winds were up to 45 miles an hour, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Aircraft cannot take off or land during the ground stop.

Aircraft scheduled to fly to DFW are also delayed.

The average delay for incoming air traffic is approximately two hours from 3:40 p.m.
