What began as a day of recognition for a lady’s platonic girlfriends on an episode of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” has been adopted nationwide as a pseudo-holiday celebrated on February 13, the eve of Valentine’s Day.

Beer, boutiques and beauty: a Galentines extravaganza
Start Galentines early with an evening of beer, boutiques, and beauty at Panther Island Brewing this Saturday. In addition to the craft beer, wine, and kombucha always on offer at Panther Island Brewing, there are freebies from Crave Medical Spa and great food from Firefly Grilling Co.

Galentine’s drink and store
The Styled Statement is hosting a sip and shop event with live music, local vendors, wine and a giveaway basket. You can expect to find handmade signs, hot cocoa bombs, essential oil blends, cheese boards, batter cup candles, and other homemade goods.
