COVID-19 Vaccinations Now Available for 12-to-15-Year-Olds at FEMA’s St. Louis Community Vaccination Center

Starting today, 12-15 year olds can get a Pfizer COVID-19 shot at FEMA’s Community Vaccination Center (CVC) in downtown St. Louis.

Earlier this week, the Food and Drug Administration issued emergency approval that allows Pfizer to be given to 12 to 15 year olds. Following this, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the use of Pfizer for this age group, as did the state of Missouri. Both state and federal permits are required to qualify for vaccination for the new age group.

As with 16- and 17-year-olds, a parent or legal guardian must accompany 12 to 15-year-olds who apply for a vaccination with ID. Proof of age for 12 to 15 year olds is recommended. Acceptable forms of identification for both age groups are a birth certificate, a learning permit, a driver’s license, a school ID or a health insurance card with a date of birth. Legal guardians or relatives of relatives accompanying a minor must provide identification and an affidavit confirming their legal authorization to consent to medical treatment for the minor.

The FEMA Vaccination Center, which is open 7 days a week in the Dome at America’s Center, has been offering Pfizer vaccinations since April 7, and is slated to permanently close on June 1 at 6 p.m. This weekend, the center has special hours of operation due to the Monster Jam Truck Show, also held in the dome. On Saturdays the center is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.;; and Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The regular operating hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. will resume on Tuesday, May 18.

Vaccination appointments are recommended, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome. Anyone who receives a second dose of Pfizer must bring their vaccination card.
To make an appointment, go to Missouri Vaccine Navigator.

Until Monday, enter The Dome at the Plaza Central entrance on 6th Street and the Convention Plaza. Free parking is available to guests on 6th Street and Cole Street. Shuttles take guests from the parking lot to the dome. First doses of Pfizer are also available until the last day, June 1st.
