Monroe murder suspect arrested in St. Louis

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Monroe police say a man suspected of the Monroe murder was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri.

Police said on September 10, 2017 they responded to a shooting in 2000 Peach Street. The victim, Gary Gardner, died of his wounds.

One of the suspects was identified as Robert Shelton. Shelton, who has been on the run since the shooting, was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 15, according to police.

Police say Shelton is awaiting extradition to Ouachita Township, where he will be charged with 2nd degree murder.
