Sauce Magazine – St. Louis Black Restaurant Week starts this Saturday
St. Louis Black Restaurant Week begins this Saturday
St. Louis Black Restaurant Week begins Saturday, October 31st and continues through Saturday, November 7th. Organized by Black Restaurants LLC, this event features black-owned restaurants, many of which offer a variety of dining options. There are 16 participating restaurants serving a range of cuisines including American, seafood, soul food, and West African cuisine.
After a successful first round in St. Louis in July, Black Restaurants LLC and various restaurant owners came together to create another great experience for visitors. CEO Frank Williamson is motivated to hold these events to raise awareness of the Black Community.
“I would like [consumers] getting used to patronizing black companies, ”Williamson said. “I know we sometimes make a habit of going to chain restaurants. We try to gain more love and support for our community. ”
During the week, the participating restaurants offer a variety of dining options. Just a few of the deals on offer include Doggie Macs, which sells hot dog and drinks for $ 10, and Prime 55, which sells vegetarian burgers with fries and drinks or salmon pusher with fries and a drink for $ 10.
Guests know what to expect from the first St. Louis Black Restaurant Week and are excited to attend a second time.
“The response has been great,” said Williamson. “People are excited about it. The response was very much appreciated. “
Black Restaurants LLC plans to hold many other events to put African American restaurants in the spotlight, including Black Friday events, Black History events, and a restaurant of the week.
