Schnucks Teams With St. Louis Restaurants for New Food Hall
Raising the consumer’s appetite for improved post-pandemic retail experiences, Schnuck Markets announced the complete makeover of its Kirkwood, Missouri store, including the debut of a food hall concept and a store-in-store concept, the St. Arch Apparel, clothing retailer in the Louis area.
The redesign of the 60,000 square meter site in Kirkwood, which opened for the first time in 1987, is expected to be completed in midsummer. When completed, the store at 10233 Manchester Road will have service counters for local restaurants such as The Shaved Duck, Seoul Taco and The Greek Kitchen, as well as a shared seating area.
Also on tap: a station for kombucha on tap, a section for remodeled products, a new section for “natural living” and an expanded section for take-away meals, according to the company. Expanded selection options will be a central theme of the renovation, Schnucks explained in a press release.
“We are proud to serve the Kirkwood community and the surrounding areas and are excited to bring these great new features to their Schnucks neighborhood,” said Store Manager Heidi Johnson.
Last fall, Schnucks equipped two of its stores in St. Louis with convenience and self-service conversions. In March, the St. Louis-based grocer announced plans to showcase a smaller concept, Schnucks Fresh, in 18,000 square feet of rental space in Jasper, Indiana.
