St. Louis County Mom, Kids Killed; Police Searching for Estranged Husband

  • Bobby McCulley III.

Update: St. Louis City Police say a man they believe was the triple homicide suspect shot himself this morning while city officials tried to arrest him on the 1,300 block of Clinton Street in the Old North neighborhood to take. The shooting took place around 7 a.m.

A St. Louis County woman and two of her children were shot dead in their home, according to county police.

An Amber Alert was issued to a third child, aged one year, who police believed had been taken from the scene by their father. The Missouri State Highway Patrol canceled the warning this morning after the little girl was safe with other family members. Police are still looking for the father, 35-year-old Bobby McCulley III, whom they identified as a suspect.

County police responded to the 4800 block of Lockwig Trail in Florissant at 11:32 p.m. Thursday for reports of a shooting. Inside, officials found the 34-year-old mother with her thirteen-year-old son and six-year-old daughter. All died there.

Police did not immediately reveal the names of the victims, but court records show that McCulley filed for divorce earlier this week by his wife, who lived in the Lockwig house and was the same age as the victim.

Another woman issued a protection order against McCulley in 2015. In 2008 McCulley was convicted of third degree assault, wrongful imprisonment, and tampering with a witness.

The highway patrol said McCulley will be driving a silver-colored Dodge Charger, Missouri license plate ZC6T3V, in 2010. He is 5 feet 7 and 180 pounds. He was last seen near Delmar and Goodfellow Boulevards. Court records in the divorce list an address for McCulley in Bellefontaine Neighbors.
