St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office to host Drug Take-Back Day

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is participating in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on October 24th.

The day is a way to provide people with a safe and convenient way to dispose of prescription drugs while raising awareness of the potential of drug abuse, a press release said.

Anyone with old or unused prescription drugs at home can get them at the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office at Hibbing, 1810 12th Ave., October 24th, 10 am-2pm. Virginia, 300 S. Fifth Ave .; and the Public Safety Building at Duluth, 2030 N. Arlington Ave.

This is an event with no questions.

Although this is a one-day event, CVS, Walgreens, and Essentia pharmacies have drug disposal boxes in St. Louis County year round. A list of the locations can be found at stlouiscountymn.gov/medwaste.

Anyone unable to get to a Dropbox or more comfortable staying home can request an envelope for free. To request an envelope, contact Anna Clough at 218-471-7362 or email [email protected]
