St. Louis food truck wins $25K Discover award
The Crooked Boot Food Truck was awarded $ 25,000 from Discover’s “Eat It Forward” campaign, which supports black-owned businesses.
The truck, based in St. Louis, Missouri, was nominated and won via social media voting, according to a report by St. Louis Dispatch.
Owner Coria Griggs started her truck in 2016 and told the news agency the award was a “blessing”.
“Winter is difficult for food trucks in St. Louis,” Griggs told the news agency. “It’s really rough because, you know, people don’t come out and you got your pipes and things frozen on top of that.”
The Discover program, which kicked off in July with nominations received by October, is designed to help the restaurant industry recover from the pandemic.
